New Dragon Age Backgrounds

These were cooked up by a friend, who plays Benedict in our Dragon Age campaign. Though the Backgrounds presented in the Player's Guide are pretty varied, we felt that the game could benefit from having a few more. So, here they are...

Chantry-Raised
2d6 Roll Benefit
2 +1 Magic
3-4 Focus: Willpower (Self-Discipline)
5 Focus: Cunning (Writing)
6 Focus: Communication (Persuasion)
7-8 +1 Willpower
9 Focus: Cunning (Research)
10-11 Focus: Cunning (Arcane Lore)
12 +1 Communication

Playing a Chantry-Raised
• Add 1 to your Willpower ability. Being raised in the Chantry gives one faith enough to bolster their confidence, or if one is not faithful, at least instills a sense of self-discipline.
• Pick one of the following ability focuses: Willpower (Faith), or Cunning (Religious Lore).
• You can speak and read the Trade Tongue. You can read Ancient Tevene.
• Choose a class. You can play either a Warrior or a Rogue

Orlesian Noble
2d6 Roll Benefit
2 +1 Communication
3 -4 Focus: Perception (Empathy)
5 Focus: Cunning (Heraldry)
6 Focus: Cunning (Historical Lore)
7 -8 +1 Perception
9 Focus: Cunning (Evaluation)
10-11 Focus: Communication (Etiquette)
12 +1 Cunning

Playing an Orlesian Noble
• Add 1 to your Cunning ability. Orlesian nobles are well-known for being intelligent, well-educated, and duplicitous.
• Pick one of the following ability focuses: Communication (Deception), or Communication (Persuasion)
• You can speak and read the Trade Tongue (with a noticeable accent) and Orlesian.
• Take the Rogue or Warrior class.

  2. Yeah, it's pretty awesome, isn't it?

I have to say, it's really cool to see French fans of the game. I only speak a very, very small amount of French myself, but I've always been curious about the French gaming scene since discovering Confrontation and Cadwallon.
